The Korean Sports Union (KU) has sent a letter to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) highlighting the case of its president, Lee Ki-heung, who is under investigation for alleged misconduct.
According to the union, the letter was sent on March 13 and addressed to James McCleod, the IOC's Director of National Olympic Committee (NOC) Affairs. In the letter, the union introduced itself as “the sole labor union of the Korean Sports Council (KSOC), representing 220 members,” and stated, “We regret to inform you that IOC President Lee Ki-heung, a member of the KSOC, is currently under investigation following an inspection by an inspection team from the Office of the Chief Cabinet Secretary.”
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Department has assigned the Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit to investigate Lee on suspicion of fraudulent recruitment of employees, 토토사이트 solicitation of sponsorship of goods (including money), and personal use of sponsored goods.
“Chairman Lee is suspected of improperly using his influence to hire his daughter's friend for a position in the sports organization,” the union explained, adding that ”Lee is also suspected of bribery and embezzlement, and eight other employees are being investigated in related cases.”

Earlier, Olympic news outlet Inside the Games had reported on several occasions that Lee had been investigated and suspended for alleged misconduct.
“We ask the IOC to keep an objective and thorough eye on this situation,” the union concluded.
